Company Background
Posted Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009, 9:03 am.As intensifying global competition shortens innovation cycles, and shrinking budgets demand greater efficiency, organizations are now challenged to achieve more with less. The situation requires new approaches to old problems. The Web 2.0 movement that has only recently made its way into enterprise thinking is fundamentally a user-centric revolution – a demand for interactive technologies that better serve their target audiences.
The founders of Ideate believe that the management of research can be as compelling as the pursuit of discovery. The Company’s tagline ‘Smart Systems for Brilliant People’ refers to the Framework’s use of intelligent decision support to proactively guide compliance so busy researchers and administrators can focus on their contributions to project goals and the organization’s research mission.
“Anyone can make the simple complicated.
Creativity is making the complicated simple.”
—Charles Mingus
Dave Duggal, Founder / Managing Director
Recognizing a widening gap between currently available research management solutions and the state-of-the-art in commercial and open source software, Dave founded Consilience on the premise that there had to be a better way to manage research in the 21st Century. Dave previously served as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for another software company in the arena at which he grew the sales five-fold during his tenure. Dave also personally developed all of the website, brochure and exhibit copy and designs, leaving the company with a strong brand and a unified message. Prior to that post, Dave served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at CommerceHub, which developed an online business-to-business exchange for retailers and wholesalers where he also led the sales and branding efforts. Before that Dave was Chief Operating Officer of a large service business based in New York City, where he was principally responsible for doubling the Company’s sales from USD 11 million to USD 22 million. Dave has a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Dave lives in upstate New York with his wife Jennifer and their two children.

Archita Bhatt, Vice President of Professional Services and Product Support
Archita leads all implementation projects for Consilience. In addition, Archita leads an initiative to build tools and wizards that streamline the deployments for customers – accelerating the time to productive value, minimizing project risk, and reducing the need for intensive consulting services. Archita is an accomplished Project Manager and Software Engineer with over ten years experience working in the research management arena for a diverse range of organizations around the globe. Archita started her career at a research university as a technical lead performing data conversions and system integrations. Her last position was with research systems vendor InfoEd, where she swiftly climbed the ranks from Senior Programmer to Director of Implementations. While Archita ascended to increasing levels of responsibility, she remained close to the code and was effective as both a project manager and a technical lead. As a result, Archita’s involvement was required and/or requested for virtually all large-scale implementations, particularly those involving complex post award integrations. Archita lives in Northern New Jersey with her husband and her baby boy.
